You Are Not The Woman In The Song

Damn rappers are smart. Make a song about “female empowerment” and watch it blow up. Women want to forget for 3 minutes that they are really hoodrat. They want to forget that that they do actually fight in the club and on the block….all the fucking time. They want to forget that the Gucci and Louis bags they have ARE FAKE. And then, their stupidity still doesn’t kick in. They don’t realize that their baby daddy that left them….WAS IN FACT A THUG. Just like all the “real niggas” who will continue to approach them. They don’t even realize what “real nigga” is a code word for. Let me know next time you hear a dude pulling in 6 figures and up, WHO IS NOT A DAMN RAPPER, that calls himself a “real nigga”. I swear, women will change their status and life for the next hot song…….
I read the lyrics to “5 Star Bitch” just to make sure I wasn’t going crazy or on some regular BS rant. I didn’t hear any mention of dk-skin girls. Sorry. So what do all the chocolate ladies do when he says “redbone, so thick”? I assure you, when he says “long hair, don’t care”, he’s not talking about weave. But you know, girls only hear beats, and the parts of the song that they like. lol. Besides, I thought five star chick was a female member of the BLOODS.
It’s not about feeling a song, it’s about how some women are such followers. Every song that comes out on the radio is NOT ABOUT YOU. I know you wish it was, but truth is, it’s not. If you’re dick riding skills were really all that like the song says, then why is your boyfriend getting his dick rode by every girl who sings the same thing? How do you like a song that talks about fucking every girl in the world….but on your facebook say “i hate niggas who gotta fuck everything.” Some of yall girls are highly confused.
I’m at the point where I realize my generation (and the one below mines) are status whores. Everything is some big announcement in their lives. It’s even funny how those kids with the song “You’re A Jerk,” played on the fact at how dumb women are, while making them dance to it and download it as a ringtone. Yall don’t find it stupid that you call men assholes, jerks, rude, etc…….and still put their dicks in your mouths? Yea, that’s REALLY going to stop a dude from being exactly how he’s been since he’s met you.
And dudes, you’re just as gay. Changing your statuses to “I need a 5 star chick.” In the words of Jeezy, “where they do that at?”
Ladies, why do you always have to change your status message to relate to the newest “hot” song in the hood? Do men do that too?

I’ve never even heard that song. If it’s playing on the radio, 9 times out’ve 10, I have not heard it or heard it several months before it was in rotation. Plus, I’m in my trance/r&b music phase, anyway. I change my status to whatever. It can be song lyrics, quotes, random thoughts, etc. And, half the song quotes I use, nobody has even heard of.

Men do the exact same thing and you are one of them. Didn’t you have a quote feature on here? MANY MANY quotes from rappers and you tend to refer to rapper’s lyrics on numerous occasions so how is it any different? I’m a little more than sure women know the songs aren’t about them but they like the tune and the beat. I think this post is a lil too literal and serious. Since when did people listen to music strictly related to them? Then no one would listen to ANYTHING and we would all be writing our own songs. It’s about the flow of the song and how catchy, half the time no one cares what the artist is saying. How many facebook dudes have “goon” tatted on them or even in their status? How many dudes quote rappers that don’t do anything they rap about? It’s definitely not just women at all.

So you’re one of the girls that uses the hot song of the month to describe how you’re feeling?

And there are other women besides the hoodrats that you speak of that listen to the exact music, it’s entertainment, because sometimes these same dudes who rap about not tricking possibly are and the same dudes who rap about being in the hood live in a city with a low crime rate. ENTERTAINMENT.

Haha I get wat ur sayn. Im sorry, its funny. Most of the quotes that r posted on here relate to how uH hits many girls n keeps it movin, doesn’t trick, etc. All of us c the stats, we c the chicks n the clubs raising their hands when “she got her own” comes up. Most of them don’t even collect unemployment, let alone know what independence is. Jus the same for guys all wearing and ruining such a classic clothing label, Ralph Lauren, jus b/c of some music videos n whatnot. People r followers n I agree with uh, our generation is lost and f*cked up

“Ladies, why do you always have to change your status message to relate to the newest “hot” song in the hood? Do men do that too?”
I just heard “Best I Ever Had” and “Every Girl” about a month ago. Catchy. Nice Beat. I’d dance to it if I ever went to a club. So, really, I can’t answer the first question. But, A RESOUNDING YES! Men do it too.
“Make a song about “female empowerment” and watch it blow up. Women want to forget for 3 minutes that they are really hoodrat…”
“I didn’t hear any mention of dk-skin girls. Sorry. So what do all the chocolate ladies do when he says “redbone, so thick”? I assure you, when he says “long hair, don’t care”, he’s not talking about weave…”
“I’m at the point where I realize my generation (and the one below mines) are status whores. Everything is some big announcement in their lives…”
My people, my people. You know the answer to these questions UH. You’ve addressed it a number of times. Self esteem, self worth, etc. Yes, for three minutes these young girls and even some old women, want to forget the fact that they are hoodrats. Maybe it’s because they wish they had made some different decisions. Maybe they wish they could be those types of women. What women doesn’t wish she could “walk like a boss, talk like a boss, and pay her bills on time”? For those 3 minutes, these women can get lost in a world where they are independent and self sufficient. Can’t hate on them for that. The problem is when they play Ms. Independent and then Every Girl, right behind each other and they shake harder to Wayne and nem. LOL.
We (I could say they, them, you…but I’m a part of this backward mess as much as the next person) are products of our generation. We are over sexualized, materialistic, and just ass backward in general, where wrong is right and right is wrong, and the world at large seems to be ok with that. Yeah, these hood chicks and not so hood chicks holla out the lyrics of these songs. They put weave in their hair, they put contacts in their eyes, and they parade around their bodies in an attempt to garner attention from any person willing to give it. But, that’s because that’s whats popular to do. And men, like yourself, pay them some attention. Yep, you prefer naturally long hair. But, that aint never stopped you from laying down with a woman who wears a wig/track. Whether you know it or not, you feed into the stereotypes. If you’re sleeping with these women, you can’t just close your eyes and pretend they aren’t there. Something attracted you to them and made you ask for their number. Thus, they think what they are doing is cute. Light skin, long hair, promiscuity, racial ambiguity, submissive, but independent…all contradictory bu glorified in the media, in our communities. Is it any wonder that everybody wants to be what they see on TV? Even being different, a unique individual, has become a group effort. A cliche. A glamorous trend.
And you’re right everything IS a big announcement. But, is life imitating art or is art imitating life? Because that is just the way it is. Go big/hard or go home. Everything is a production these days. Every little thing down to picking out a toothbrush can be broadcast on TV or the internet. Even this blog. Our lives have become commercialized products. A way for the rich to get richer. Is it any wonder that they seek their 15 minutes on their myspace profiles? Is it any wonder that they strive to be what’s glorified on TV? In our communities?
It’s a cycle baby. They are just doing what they’ve been taught to do. It takes a strong, grounded individual to avoid getting caught in the ropes weaved by our crooked, self gratifying society.
I’ve gone COMPLETELY off topic and got exceptionally long winded, I think…LOL. So, I’m gonna be done right about….here.

Whatever, this is such a generalization about SOME women. You think its funny how men (most notably black men) treat their women. Well it shows ignorance not only on the race but the sex as a whole. I like and respect your blog for the bluntness, but some of it is just foolishness (sorry to offend your groupies.) What Real women are you talking about? Most of the girls you sleep with sound and seem “young.” They may have real hair, smart minds, thick whatevers, and be “college eduacted” but some inner knowledge is lacking. Sometimes being “young” has nothing to do with age but has everything to do with being ignorant and unaware. But then that’s not all true either. I have a younger friend of mine that does and may do many of the things above and mentioned in other posts. I don’t sleep on her though because I know that she is more than her actions. Maybe its going to take Some women a couple of years to realize. “Wow we arn’t impressing anyone, They arn’t uplifting us they are laughing at us” This post must be going out to the type of girl you’ve lied to, cheated on, slept with, and will or might make your next jump off.” This whole blog could be validation to saying “Black men arn’t shit, they lie, decieve, and are damn disrespectful,” but that would be a huge generalization and far from the truth.

great post i think it all boils down to certain females being sheep craving men to be shepherds, always needing someone to tell them what to do and how to be cause they are too WEAK(yea i said it) too think or do for themselves. They use rap lyrics to convince themselves they are worthy of praise. They use video models to MODEL what it is to be praised. Only to be emotionally disseminated when reality hits that mahsuckas aren’t talking about THEM personally. Well bitch if its not your name in the song and its not your face in the videos i guess none of the shit pertains to you anyway, find your own relevance. Put your big girl panties on and do shit for yourself.

I’ve been reading your blog for a while, but this is my first time commenting. First off I want to say that this post is one of the realest that I’ve ever read. It’s straight to the point and I love it. To answer your question though, I personally put song lyrics as a status simply because I like the lyrics. Most of the lyrics don’t relate to me, but some of the metaphors are amazing. Just the way one person can say a common sentence and turn it into their own in a way that no one else thought of is amazing to me. And yes, guys put lyrics as their status also. Lol

another excellent post bruh. and while you’re at it, you should go in on this recent obsession people seem to have with “haters.” i’m tired of people thanking “haters”, and showing love to their “haters.” it’s sad that they don’t realize “haters” aren’t hating, they’re really just not paying any attention. last thing, 5 point stars are Vice Lords, not bloods.
Great blog, keep up the good work.

I think it’s just like the thing about Fabolous being a “female friendly” rapper. Sometimes all it takes is a good beat and one flattering line to get some women to ignore all the other negative things he’s said in his songs…(or what he’s said in the previous verse for that matter).
The crazy thing is, the ones who do this in their status probably do the same thing in their lives. Her man cheats, lies and steals but when its time to give up on him, she always go back to his ONE good attribute. People are too easily impressed.

Thank you for posting this. I actually like this song but that does not mean I will make it my ringtone. That’s like with “independent”, all these chicks get hype about the song and most of them don’t have their own pot to piss in. It;s amazing the songs we will dance to no matter how degrading. That’s like when I was young and people use to do the perculator to “there’s some hoes in this house”. I refuse to dance to a song that the only words revolve around a hoe. These are the songs that people teach their daughters to coochie pop too. My momma never allowed me to dance in the street but look at Youtube and that’s all you see is little girls looking back at their behinds popping. It’s sad and makes me happy that I have a son instead of a daughter. females these days ask for respect then degrade themselves all in the same minute. That’s why so many women think all they have to offer is a big butt or a mean head game. Since when is this all we aspire to? Then they wonder why all they get is drug dealers and men with no job at all. The standards have been set so low. I was listening to a Gucci song this morning “Street Nigga” when he says to a project chick a street nigga is the best its going to get. How true is this to so many chicks?

I believe that they are truly just songs, just lyrics, just words. People are always going to follow the hype; no matter what it is. If they got us calling ourselves niggas, bitches, and hoes. You damn right we going to stand up in the club when they call out independent ladies and 5 star bitches….yeah….lol. Just like chris rock said: They ain’t talking about me! Dumb ass songs will always be cool and people in general will always throw lyrics out there without considering what the artist is really saying.

I actually couldn’t agree with you more I am associated with some of the very women you described in this blog. Women who shamelessly and thoughtlessly adhere to monikers that are degrading and disrespect. Women who don’t know what separates their head from their ass when it comes to dealing with men. I’ve came across so many twitter, myspace, facebook pages where women refer to themselfs as “minaj” or “montana” or something they’ve heard from the latest hip hop song and it sickens me albeit men do it too. If I had a quarter for every gucci & lil wayne wanna be I’d be rich; it’s just a crying shame people no longer have a real sense of self identity.

I blast alot of music that I don’t exactly agree with and that doesn’t represent me, my lifestyle or my views. I sing the lyrics to “Rich off cocaine” tho I don’t condone drug trafficking. And when I made “Make her say” my ringtone, EVERYBODY looked @ me wierd when my phone rang…til the video came out and the radio starting spinnin’ it. Most people simply lack the confidence to create they own lane, and need justification to feel good about what they do…

LMAO @ this one….I actually made a status on FaceBook about this exact topic. I was like “why do women feel like every song is about them (Diva, 5 star Chick, Independent, She Got Her Own, etc…) I was encourging all ladies 2 b honest with themselves and listen 2 them songs and you will soon discover that the women in those lyrics is not U AT ALL”….. People were mad, calling my cell like “Who you talking about?” Am like “Women in general, but if you feeling guilty then am talking about YOU”….. 2 me It is ok 2 like these songs, but ladies LET’S GET OUT SHIT TOGETHER, with or without a song…….n FYI men do the same thing all the time let’s b honest, ITS SO MANY MORE SONGS FOR A MANS EGO THAN IT IS FOR A WOMANS EGO ITS RIDICULOUS, but the same is true 4 men as it is 4 women, We gotta stop living our lives in a Rap song. Cuz if rappers stop rapping would anybody know how 2 defined themselves???……
